Franco LeRoux

Hello all and welcome to my first blog of the summer. Hopefully not my only one but we’ll see if I remember this year. I’m already behind in keeping up with the blog reading, you guys are posting too often and too long. haha jk, so I love it, keep up the good work.

So Jonathan and I have been having a pretty good week so far. I’m really glad to have him since I didn’t get to go to training (Still sad… I cry e’rytime :(…   ) and he’s a great help to me while we both teach. Also he’s helping me learn the songs, which are surprisingly hard this year, lol.

Anyway our first club had 5 kids the first day and is now up to 6, with hopes of a few more coming in the next two days. The kids are a little older but are a great group and I can tell they are really engaged, which is great. They seem like a great friend group to be apart of, haha.

The second club has had 6 kids all week. One of the kids is now 12, and she’s been coming to club for 10 years! wow! Two of the kids were the neighbour of the hostess and were shy at first. I don’t believe they are churched, and unfortunately today was the last day (no decision sadly) but the girl seemed really into it today and even said a memory verse which was great. There was also something awesome that happened today at this club. As Jonathan and I were teaching the songs and Memory Verses we noticed a lady standing across the street by her car and smiling and clapping her hands occasionally. Just before she left she walked across the street, interrupted us and said “He sorry to interrupt but I just had to say something. Thank you guys for doing what you’re doing. I thought there was no good left in this world but what you’re doing is great”.  Then her friend walked up and she told him “these guys are teaching those kids about Jesus, that’s so great”. He replied “praise the Lord”. Then they both complemented us and drove us. I had the biggest smile on my face, it was just such a nice occasion, and great to see. Made my day.

Our third club has bee growing steadily all week. We started with 2, just the hostesses kids, then we had 4, and today 7. This club is going places and the kids are fantastic and really bright.

Our fourth club is coming up in 40 minutes, and it’s been loaded with kids for both of the days. We had 14 kids the first day, and we were all stuck inside cause it was raining. Then yesterday we had 18 and luckily we were outside. There have been a total of 20 kids to this club. We even ran into Tonny yesterday while teaching this club because he drove one of the kids to it. There is a group of older kids who are really into doing the lessons and memorizing the verses, which is great. Then there’s also a group of younger kids who love to point out every little minute detail we miss in our stories, haha, well at least they are paying attention.

Anyway sorry for the novel, hope you enjoyed.

Till the next time
