Katelyn Siemens

Why hello there, my name is Katelyn Siemens. This past year I attended Capenwray Harbour Bible School in BC and loved it greatly. This fall I will be attending Biercrest. I'm little weird but the Lord made us all unique! This is my first year teaching. Amen! Prayer requests would be: Safety for traveling, Teaching the clubs.

This last week was probably the hardest week of clubs I’ve ever done. But throughout that whole week God taught me how to be patient with the kids and just simply  love them as well. “When you’re tempted to lose patience with someone, think about how patient God has been with you” a true great reminder. When you don’t have the patience with kids, its also so hard to love them as well.  Each individual child is created uniquely by God, in His image, and is someone Jesus Christ gave His life for when he died on the cross. My goal is not to go around “fixing” these kids, as though they are just another task for me to complete. We are to love them. It’s not easy. John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.”  We must continually open ourselves up  to God, allowing Him to fill us with rivers of His love because then and only then can we overflow with His love to others. Without him we can’t do it on our own. We need to point them to the One who is Love, The Gospel is the vast demonstration of His love. On the last day of my clubs I fell in love with all the kids. It was hard for me to leave. When you let God do the work through you…your heart changes.  This might be the hardest ministry I have done but up to this point the most rewarding.

All my clubs that I have done so far are just a blessing! it may be a challenge half the time but it truly is incredibly beautiful. Before doing this ministry I had never led a child to Christ. Now in all the clubs I have done so far there have been a few children that have asked Jesus into their hearts.  I also even had the privilege of introducing an adult to Christ at one of the clubs.
It is amazing how some kids have such a desire to follow the Lord. They don’t have to think twice about!. I love that. God’s love is constant, unchanging, and unrelenting. He will never love us more than he does now, and he will never love us less. I told some of the children this at one of my clubs last week and they were amazed  that Jesus loved us so much that He died on the cross for our sins. They were mind blown  that God’s love is constant!

To be honest I didn’t think I was going to teach 5 Day Clubs. Basically God Shattered my plans for summer and  now I am seeing the repercussion of why. I feel as though I have gained a new layer to who I am and who God is creating me to be. I never would have imagined myself going around Saskatchewan proclaiming the gospel to young children! God is working and doing amazing things. Praise be to Him always.

I can not believe my very first week of clubs is done! I did it, with no heart attacks 🙂 I love teaching and I can not believe I am saying that. I remember walking into my second week of training being completely terrified.  I cried almost every single day thinking this Job was not for me. Than it hit me on the very last day of training “God does not call the equipped, He equips the called”

I am nervous and excited to go into my second week of teaching! this last week I only taught 3 clubs and now this week coming it will be 5 clubs but looking forward to seeing what God will do in the lives of these kid.

Anyone who is feeling Anxious or terrified going into this next week here is a verse…Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”
