This last week was probably the hardest week of clubs I’ve ever done. But throughout that whole week God taught me how to be patient with the kids and just simply love them as well. “When you’re tempted to lose patience with someone, think about how patient God has been with you” a true great reminder. When you don’t have the patience with kids, its also so hard to love them as well. Each individual child is created uniquely by God, in His image, and is someone Jesus Christ gave His life for when he died on the cross. My goal is not to go around “fixing” these kids, as though they are just another task for me to complete. We are to love them. It’s not easy. John 15:12 “This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” We must continually open ourselves up to God, allowing Him to fill us with rivers of His love because then and only then can we overflow with His love to others. Without him we can’t do it on our own. We need to point them to the One who is Love, The Gospel is the vast demonstration of His love. On the last day of my clubs I fell in love with all the kids. It was hard for me to leave. When you let God do the work through you…your heart changes. This might be the hardest ministry I have done but up to this point the most rewarding.
