Hey so today was once again an interesting day. Grace and I both woke up late and were pretty frustrated this morning about some things. It was honestly so hard to go and teach a club by myself when I personally did not feel like I could. But God gave me the strength and it turned out to be a good day, even if I had a bad morning.

Club 1: Today I had 7 kids come so that was great and another kid came too. He has a Catholic background and he made comments that made me wonder if he fully understood the Gospel. Also his parents are divorced and I want to make sure I do my absolute best to present the Gospel to these kids. So pray that the Holy Spirit will begin to soften this boy’s heart and he would be receptive. Also there a girl there who is next door neighbors with the hostess. Their kids are close friends, now the hostess’ son was trying to tell me his verse which was Romans 6:23. This girl had missed the verse from yesterday because she wasn’t there. After he had said it she spoke up and said:

“Hey, I know what the gift of God is.”

Myself: “You do? What is it ?”

Girl: “It’s Jesus dying on a cross for the bad things we have done.”

I was so happy to hear that she understood that all on own because her family doesn’t believe in Jesus. So it was super exciting to hear that she got that. Then the hostess’ son was so happy she got that too and asked how she knew this. And it was through her lessons that she had been doing this week. So pray for this girl and her family as the hostess has been evangelizing to this family for awhile. I’m so happy that a seed was planted and I know without a doubt God was continue to make it grow.

Club 2: This club has been interesting as the kids are a bit more difficult to work with. So the little boy who had brain damage came today so that was good to see. Before we even started song time he was reaching for me to lift him up. So I did that and did the actions at the same time which was something new. After that I sat down with him and it seemed like we became pretty good friends. During the storytime of A Little Rascal he sat on my lap and  listened really well during the story. After the song it was my turn to tell the Bible story, but this boy refused to go and sit with Shamus. Everyone was encouraging him to go when he yelled out: “But I love you.” I didn’t want to risk the chance of him having a melt down so Shamus told the Bible story instead. But during it he got up and wanted to play with a toy, but one of the volunteers told him it was too distracting and took it from him. He had this black puppy he had played with before, so I grabbed it and gave it to him. Afterwards his older sister told me that’s his calm down puppy. It was clearly God working there because there was no way I could have known about that. It was a draining club, energy wise, but it was a good one and I’m really going to miss these kids. They’re a challenge but tomorrow is still going to be pretty sad. But pray that they will be able to calm down and not be too energetic for tomorrow.

Club 3: Today for this club in the park Shamus and I decided to play a game of grounders to get more kids. As a result almost all of the kids came and played with us. We played for about 30 minutes then we told the kids about the 5-Day Clubs. They came marching in a group when they heard the word ‘prizes’. We had 14 kids come today and that was really awesome to see. The kids listened really well and I got to thoroughly explain the Gospel in the story of Saul to Paul. We gave out Gospel of John’s and lots of packages. I had one girl come up to me and she looked pretty interested in making a decision but didn’t. She took one of the Gospel’s and said that she needed to do more reading this summer, and she would read that book. I was so happy to hear that and 2 girls came to Christ too! Honestly, before Shamus and I got there I was just praying for God to do something incredible with this club and He did today. (:

I’m so excited but tired so pray that we can finish tomorrow off strong.

God Bless,

Gwyneth

Alright so today was a good day of teaching and I had lots of fun. The kids were super great and filled with so much energy. But I managed, and it’s crazy to think we are halfway through the week.

Club 1: So this club has been great and today we had 4 kids and one girl was new. The kids still got into stories and songtime. Apparently lots of the kids will be coming back tomorrow so that’s awesome, but I’m really hoping for more neighborhood kids. So pray that the advertising the hostess has done so far will be effective.

Club 2: The VBS today had 6 kids and the boy I had asked for you guys to pray for came today! He was doing much better and even though he seemed to be all over the place, when he sat down he really did focus on what was being said. The kids listened and were engaged so that was awesome to see. During it Shamus made ballon animals and all of the kids got to leave with one. One girl has hers and she was throwing it up in the air. Then she said:

“Hey, it’s a flying dog. Like Rudolph but it’s a dog.”

That comment probably made my day. (:

Lots of the kids are unchurched here so just pray that God will continue to soften their hearts. (:

Club 3: This was our club in the park and it was pretty good. I was super tired and was just not ready to teach but I mustered up some energy to advertise to these parents. As I sat down and talked to Shamus I saw a girl with a Frisbee playing by herself. So right away I saw this as an opportunity and asked if I could play with her. We talked about her TobyMac shirt she was wearing when her friend came and joined in. Soon we had a pretty fun game of catch happening. I invited them to come and they came. 4 kids were here today, including the hostess’ 2 kids, but it was good. For this club pray that we can reach more kids, and tomorrow is our last day for this club.

My last prayer is just for energy because this busy itinerary is really tiring. I have to leave the house before 8 and I usually get home and done teaching around 9:00. So pray that won’t be an issue.

God Bless,

Gwyneth

Hey guys, so this week we did a switch up and the ChangChang’s were broken up for this week. So now I’m teaching with the ever awesome Shamus Westra. It’s always great getting to work with different teachers and it’s been a real privilege working with him. Anyways on with the clubs:

Club 1: So this one is a club I am teaching by myself and I felt kind of awkward when I came there the first day. I was super early because Grace had to drop me off in the north end then headed to Grace Konard’s club in the south end. As I strolled up with my suitcase I rung the doorbell and a little boy I had taught last year answered the door. Then his mom came and I realized I had taught a different club that they went to, and this boy had accepted Christ. It was so awesome that I actually knew them somewhat so right away I felt more at rest. Then a bunch of kids came piling in the backyard at club time, and most of them I had taught last year at this different club. The moms were really close and decided to move to their house in a different neighborhood to see if they could get more kids to come. It was awesome to see two parents so concerned about working together to get the Gospel spread. (: The ages for this club is 3-7 so it’s a really young crowd but they have such great attention spands. At the beginning of club there was a little girl and she started crying before I even started. But by the end of club she was singing along to the songs and excited like everyone else. I honestly love teaching this club and I can’t wait to go back tomorrow. Shamus came at the end of club and we played soccer with some of the boys. For this club we haven’t really had any kids in the neighborhood, other than 2 kids out of the 10. So pray for more since there are lots and lots of kids in that area.

Club 2: So with this VBS we have a 11 kids come today and that was pretty cool. There is a grandma and she brought 6 kids with her yesterday. She has a 5 year old son she adopted and she told us that he has brain damage because of his parents doing drugs when he was younger. His right side is completely damaged and the front of his left is too. He didn’t come to VBS because he had a melt down today at home and apparently had to wear a helmet so he wouldn’t hurt his head when he hit it on things. Please pray for this boy and this lady taking care of him. So we taught the club, and yesterday they were distracted during our part of teaching. But today they did really good and were engaged especially in the stories. Many of the kids are unchurched here so pray that the Holy Spirit will begin to soften their hearts. (: At a point while Shamus was teaching he asked what the name of the boy from A Little Rascal was. This boy put up his hand and said: “His name was Tony…Tony Stark!” I tried to keep from laughing, as he thought that we were learning about Ironman. I’ve enjoyed this crowd and getting to know them.

Club 3: This club is in the park in the evening. Now park clubs have always been harder for me because of my experience a couple of years ago. I taught in a park by myself, and there was a lady there who wasn’t happy my hostess and I was there. But we headed out and I just had to face my fears of teaching in the park. So we ended having 4 kids, including this hostess’ 2 kids, and it truly was a preschool club. We didn’t have batteries for the CD player either so whenever the kids seemed really energetic, they would chase Shamus around. It was a great way to lose energy. Now there was a 4 year old girl there and just felt like there was something there. So I felt like I should pray for her as the club went by. After I had taught the Biblre story I asked if anyone wanted to accepted Jesus and she put up her hand. I went through the Wordless Book with her, but her parents wanted to go. The thing was that it was actually okay just because she made comments during club that showed she didn’t fully get it. Like that she was a angel and stuff so this seemed entirely new to her. I felt like it was better for me just to explain the Book to her rather than try and add an extra number on the stat sheet. I was glad to know that a seed was just planted, so just pray this girl will continue to understand.

This morning I read a passage in Psalm 127:1 which says “Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.” I can’t start trying to build my ministry in the way I want it built. It won’t produce the fruit it would with God. Rather I have to let God do it instead and this club just reminded me of that importance. (:

God Bless,

Gwyneth

Alright so apparently I’m not the best at posting on time. So here’s my last week Friday post I forgot to publish.

Club 1: We only had the one again today but it was still a really fun club. It was actually really encouraging to teach her and a real blessing for me. I haven’t taught many kids where it’s one on one for the whole week, but this club taught me the importance of being faithful with the little things God gives us. Throughout the week people were sad for us when there heard that there was only one kids at this club, but personally I rejoiced. Because this kid came for a reason and Grace and I had the responsibility of pouring into this girl’s life, and we wanted to make sure we were diligent in that. After the club we did some more chalk art and we played hopscotch, but you had to do a dance, sing a song and make an animal impersonation at certain parts in the course. It was so much fun and I was really sad to leave that club, but I know God has great plans for this girl’s life. (:

Club 2: This VBS has been very interesting this past week as we had one 11 year old and the rest of the kids were 6 and under. Since the older child wasn’t there it was a preschool club, so Grace and I cut our stories shorter and hoped for the best. It seemed like the kids were better so we could actually get through the stories fairly well. Afterwards snack we went outside, and the pastor in training decided to do some skateboard tricks to fit with our theme. Even though he didn’t land all of the tricks there were some pretty impressive ones. There was a little girl there and for the sake of disclosure I’ll call her Suzy. Now Suzy was sitting beside me and watching all of these tricks and at a point she told me we should ask him if he could skateboard up a tree. I tried to keep from laughing as this kid went on to then tell me how she has done that before, but it was the only trick she knew. Honestly, the things kids say can seriously make ones day. (: After this we all piled into the church and the same guy began talking to the kids about what they had learned and it was literally dead silent. I felt so awkward because I had been teaching the Bible stories, and it felt like they weren’t getting anything. Everyday I went over the theme verse and asked the exact same questions and only the oldest one there could tell me what the verse meant by Friday. I was pretty sad about that, but Suzy raised her hand at a point and was able to tell him what a 180 with Jesus meant. I was ecstatic that she understood what it meant all by herself. Then at a point she said:

“We have two Fathers. The first Father is God the Father and the second one is my real father on earth.” Then she turned to me and said with the biggest smile on her face: “You know God doesn’t have arms or legs like us but He’s still pretty nice.”

Afterwards the VBS helper in charge told us that he had talked to the mother of the unchurched girl, who had come this week, and she had been concerned that we were trying to get her to make a decision. He explained that wasn’t the case and had a good conversation with her about church and God. So that was encouraging to hear that God had a purpose with this week and that the kids and even a parent left that VBS with something today.

Club 3: So a song that I have really enjoyed has a line that says: “The joy of the LORD, the joy of the LORD is our strength.” Everyday this week I’ve almost just needed to sing that over myself before I headed into these clubs. By just asking God to fill me with His joy truly did bring strength as I interacted with these kids. Today we had 5 kids and a total of 9 kids this week. The club went pretty well as the club went along. They did a great job and were engaged, but not too distracted. Thanks to everyone who prayed for this club. (; However during it I began feeling super unwell and Grace had to take over, but she did a great job holding down the fort. At the end we talked to the hostess because there was a boy who put up his hand after the invitation but went home before Grace could talk to him. Him and his sister said they didn’t go to church but they honestly answered questions like they were church kids, and this wasn’t new to them. Later we found out the their mom had left the church because she was having issues with the people there. And this hostess was trying just to be a friend and to work with her on that stuff. Please pray for her friend because her kids want to go back to church but they can’t cause their home doesn’t want to.

This week has been an interesting week but it has also been a good one. Romans 10:14-15 says

How, then, can they call one the on they have not believed in ? And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ” How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

I honestly believe that every worker we have has been called to this task, and it’s not an easy one. You may feel discouraged, and disappointed about how some clubs have gone so far but just remember that we serve a God who is for us and not against us. And He loves it when people are sharing the Gospel, so don’t lose hope fellow workers. (:

Well that’s all I have for today, and sorry for the lengthy post.

God Bless,

Gwyneth

Hey just got back from teaching and thought I should update on what has happened today. It’s been a good week and God has shown me lots. One of them is being faithful where He has placed me and just to trust His timing. Lots of the kids who come this week are churched and during the VBS, Grace and I are supposed to take a step back for someone else to talk to the kids about salvation. It’s been a very different change in pace from last week to this week, but I’m glad to know that my job is just to plant seeds wherever I go and leave the rest up to God. (:

Club 1:Once again we had the one girl and she was lots of fun. She finished all of her lessons and has said all of her verses too. It’s been great and I’m sad that we are going to be leave this club tomorrow, but I thankful for the opportunity to encourage this girl to continue living out her faith. After clubs once again we used chalk on the sidewalk and that was just a great way to get to know her better. Grace and I have some Christian CD’s in our car, so we often just play that while drawing. At a point she told me that she knew the song because it plays on Shine FM (the Christian radio station), and that was pretty awesome. So pray with this club that more kids will come for the last day. The family with the 4 girls I talked about earlier haven’t come yet, so pray that there will be nothing hindering them from coming tomorrow.

Club 2: It feels like with each passing day this club seems to get better which is good. So once again we brought our good friend Grace Konard to join the ChangChang experience. Today the kids didn’t interrupt as much, and it went along pretty smoothly. Today it was raining and as I was trying to prayer at the end of the Bible story, one in churched girl interrupted and said how she didn’t like the lightening and thunder. I tried to casually head into my prayer when all of a sudden she just starts praying: “Dear God, keep the thunder far away from me. Amen.” One of her friends even congratulated her on praying which was good, but I was thinking that probably won’t work. Literally, 15-20 minutes later it completely stopped raining and the sun was out. Talk about that child like faith right there. When we went to drop off Grace Konard off at home in the South end, that was where all the rain and dark clouds were. Grace and I had to smile that God answered the prayers of this girl completely.

ChangChang Adventures: After snack and games we went back to the sanctuary, and as we were wrapping up VBS the person in charge wanted to end with prayer. As we were about to pray there were these 2 girls talking in front of me. All week these two have been annoyed with one another and I honestly thought they couldn’t stand each other. But all of a sudden one of the girls said: “I’m going to pray for you.” Normally I would totally agree with this, however she was praying at the same time as the VBS volunteer. It literally sounding like she saying gibberish, but apparently she was praying for this girl. Then when she finished she was so proud of herself for what she had done. It was a pretty funny moment, but it also made me remember the importance of praying for people who aren’t always nice to you. Grace had said that earlier in the VBS and it was great to see them living some of these things out. Especially since it felt like we weren’t getting through to these kids a lot of the time.

Club 3: So this club always seems to be interesting and different everyday. Today we had 5 kids today which brought our attendance total to 9 kids. Today it started out pretty good but the kids get super hyper half way through and we struggle to finish our stories. We have used slower songs and used memory verse games that aren’t getting them too excited but they are still too energetic. So pray that for our last day of clubs tomorrow we won’t have that issue and can still have a fun time teaching these kids. (:

So earlier today I asked for people to pray for Grace and she is feeling a lot better, so thanks to everyone who prayed. Another praise item is the fact that my voice is doing so much better from training week. I still can’t hit those high notes on the 7 Most Important Things song but I was never able to hit them anyways. Thanks for all the support and prayers from everyone.

God Bless,

Gwyneth

So yesterday I typed out my blog but fell asleep before I could post it. So here’s what happened on Wednesday:

Alright so today was a great day of teaching. Though these long evenings are quickly getting to me, and I’m running low on energy. But the LORD is constantly giving me strength each day when I feel like I can’t do it. Even though it’s only the second week of teaching it just becomes more and more apparent that I need Him to constantly sustain me. With that all being said I’ll head straight into my clubs for today.

Club 1: So yesterday with this club we only had the same one girl come out. But it was so much fun because after club we just hung out for 45 mins. We drew on the sidewalk with chalk and even got in some advertising done. (; We had a path that lead to the club encouraging them to come so that was fun to do. IMG_20150721_104310

However last night it rained and this girl came out and re-drew it after it had finished raining. It was one of the best things I have ever seen. So we taught her again today and that was lots of fun. But the family I had talked about with 4 kids didn’t come today, and they just got back from vacation. So pray that they will be able to join us tomorrow.

Club 2: For this club we recruited Grace Konard to help with crowd control during the VBS. Today it was better, probably because of the double portion of grace. We got through the stories and there were less interruptions. Afterwards we headed to the basement for snacks, and they got rid of the tables to see if that would work better with these 6 energetic kids. It really did but some of the girls thought they should eat their crackers and cheese on all fours. One of these girls mom was a helper and noticed them doing this. She looked really concerned at her daughter and asked if she was licking the floor. It was hilarious. They have been a fun crowd to teach and a little bit challenging, but they’re great kids. With this club pray about the follow up on these kids. Grace and I aren’t supposed to and instead a man at their church is doing that. But he is running half of the things happening at this VBS and has a busy schedule, so pray that can happen as kids have shown a interest.

ChangChang Adventures: So after our VBS we had to go drop Grace Konard off at her house. Now she lives on the South side and there wasn’t enough time for Grace and I to head to the north and make ourselves dinner. So we decided we would use some petty cash to buy some food. However when went, Grace realized she had forgotten the petty cash at home. So we hopped in our car and looked for the closest McDonald’s that wasn’t too far. We couldn’t get to the one we wanted to so we ended up finding a different one. As we walked in Grace had this song suck in her head that talked about the glory of God. We used our small about of cash to buy ourselves some fries. As we were leaving the cashier stopped us and asked if we wanted a smoothie. Apparently, they had accidentally made an extra one. We were so hungry and that honestly couldn’t have been planned better. So we happily took it and sang about the glory of God on the way to our next club.

Club 4: With this last club we had 4 kids today and it started off really good. We do have one girl and it seems like she always has so much energy. Yesterday she was busy doing round offs in the middle of the house and falling on the floor. But at the beginning of club she was more calm than usual. The moment we went to the memory verse everything seemed to turn into a go wrongth. Everyone was hyped up and Grace and I coudn’t focus. So pray that tomorrow that won’t be the case.

For prayer requests Grace has been pretty sore these past couple of days, so pray that we would get back to her usual self.

God Bless,

Gwyneth

Hey so you may have heard about Grace hitting her head on Sunday. It gave me quite the scare cause I wasn’t there and all I heard was that she needed stitches. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad, and she only needed a single stitch. Today she was able to teach with me and that was a blessing. So on with teaching for today:

Club 1: With this club, we only had one kid but it was a really encouraging club. Last week our first club didn’t have any kids so I was really thankful that wasn’t the case this time. The girl was churched, and we had was really fun time. She was engaged and got into the songs and stories and her mom even said she wanted to come again tomorrow so Grace and I were happy about that. Last year Grace taught the club and there was a family with 4 kids. They wanted to come again last year but they are out of town until Wednesday. But pray that more kids will come to this club tomorrow.

ChangChang Adventures: So today we didn’t get lost thankfully, but we had excessively long breaks. So after our first club we had a 4 and a half hour break (without the driving in between). After making ourselves a healthy lunch of pancakes we decided to surprise Shamus and Grace Konard. They were teaching a club at my friends house and it’s a short drive from our house. It was fun getting to just sit through a club and enjoy the stories just like the kids. (:

Club 2: This one was a VBS and we had 6 kids come. It was a fun club to teach and the kids have lots of energy. It awesome to see how they are a small group but they all get involved in community with one another. During the VBS there was a little girl there and she said how she didn’t want to hear a story. But it was so funny to watch because as Grace taught the extra story she came to the cut off, and you could see this girl’s disappointment. I’m glad that her thought on stories changed. The only problem was that during the VBS there were 3 girls that kept on distracting each other, so pray that won’t be an issue this week. Also pray for the follow up, because the person running the VBS is doing game time, and they are doing their own songs. On top of that they also want him to lead the children to Christ so that’s a lot for one person to do. Grace and I want to do our best to make sure we want take that pressure off so these kids can be reached. So pray that can happen this week.

Club 3: This last club is an evening club and it’s located 40km away from our house. So we by the end of the week we will have driven 400 km just from the club alone, which is crazy. But it was a really fun club, and we had 7 kids today. The host said there were 7 more kids who didn’t make it, but hopefully they can come tomorrow. I’m so excited to teach there tomorrow, cause the kids all get into it. Even the older boys did actions and got into the stories which I thought awesome. Only the hostess’ kids are churches so pray that we will be able to effectively preach the Gospel here.

God Bless,

Gwyneth

There’s a song that I really like called ‘Wonder’ by Amanada Cook. A part in the song says

May we never lose our wonder, may we never lose our wonder. Wide eyed and mystified may we be just like a child, staring at the beauty of our King.”

This past week has really left me in more and more amazement of God. Of who He is and everything He does for us. It’s been a great way of starting out the summer, and I’m excited for what God has in store for tomorrow. So here’s what happened on Friday last week.

Club 2: This club has been a tough one to teach because the kids were constantly distracting one another. Friday was the same and I always hate being that teacher making rules and telling them to stop all the time. The club felt like it was dragging and I was sad that’s the way we would end our week of clubs. But as we were leaving, one girl who came later in week said that she really enjoyed the 5-Day Club and wanted to invite her friends next time. I was shocked cause I felt like we hadn’t accomplished anything that week. I found out from Grace after the club that she was the first new person to come to that club in 2 years she’s taught there. It was awesome to see how excited she was about her faith and really growing in her relationship in God.

Club 3: This club has been super fun to teach, and we have really enjoyed our time there. In all my years of teaching, I have always wanted to teach a farm club so I was ecstatic to find out we got one this year. At this club we have had 2 mailbox decisions and 1 decision there so that was really awesome. Now there was older boy there and the hostess’ grandson. At the beginning of the week he put up his hand after the invitation but we couldn’t do follow up with him because we always had rush to the next club. We saw his lesson and he put down that he was talking with his family about doing that. Grace and I were pretty excited and we knew that God was in complete control of the situation. So we got follow up done and we were super happy about that. We also challenged the kids that if they got 25 lessons on Friday they got to pie us. In the end they got 37 lessons so that was something that the kids enjoyed. We told them to make a line in front of the teacher the wanted to pie and in the end I got 8 kids out of the 10! It really was a privilege to get to teach such an awesome group of kids.

Club 4: So we had 13 kids and with this club everyday always seemed different. Friday was a really relaxed day and the kids were more excited for the stories than they were for the songs. At a point they were literally chanting to have a story, so I told them the Bible story. We challenged them to get 30 lessons in and one girl told us that she stayed up until midnight to finish all 7 lessons. (What makes so cool is the fact that we got to lead her to Christ the day before). In the end they also got to pie me. For some odd reason kids love to gang up on me and that’s what they did. After cleaning up we gave the hostess the Bibles for the kids that needed them. It was a great way of concluding clubs.

Thanks to everyone who has been praying for me this past I really appreciate the support.

God Bless,

Gwyneth

Alright so today was a great day of teaching, and I’m sad that the week is coming to an end. I’ve really enjoyed the time to get to know these kids and just encourage them in their walk with God.

Club 2: So for today it was a little chaotic to be honest. We started about 20 minutes late doing Bible verses at the beginning. Grace and I thought we could catch up on time and weren’t too concerned. But the kids were laying all over the the couches and distracting one another. Grace had to do the Wordless Book because they couldn’t focus long enough for us to finish the Bible story. They are a great group of kids but pray that they won’t be distracted. The good thing was that during the club one girl, who didn’t talk to us really, totally opened up today and participated in the club more than usually. So that was really cool to see.

Club 3: There were 9 kids today and we had to move to the garage because of the weather. These kids are the best, so we decided to tell them that if they finish 25 lessons as a group they could pie us. They seem pretty eager for it, so tomorrow we see if they can do it. So yesterday I blogged about how we were struggling with follow up during this club and then rushing to the next club. So today we finished club and we talked to one girl who had put her hand everyday so far after the invitation. She had made a mailbox decision during the week and we wanted to make sure she understood what she had done. As we talked to her you could just see the excitement on her face and how pumped she was about her decision. My favorite part of the conversation went as followed:

Grace: “Did you know that the angels in heaven had a party for the decision you made?”

Girl: “Really? They had a party for me?!”

She had the biggest smile I have ever seen and you could just sense the joy. Afterwards we had a boy who put up his hand and I went and talked to him. He understood everything and he just had never made that decision for himself. So we did that and that was really awesome. I’m excited to be back there tomorrow.

Club 4: Grace Konard came back to teach with me again so that was good. Yesterday the kids only wanted to hear the Little Rascal extra story and it felt like club dragged until that happened. It especially felt like that during the memory verse. Well today it went along a lot better and the kids were pretty attentive during the club. At a point in the club one girl put up her hand and said: “Teacher, why do you wear the same pants everyday?” I had to laugh at the question a little but she was dead serious. I explained that I had worn shorts the day before, but I think she’s convinced that I only wear the same pants everyday. As I was teaching the Bible story I got to the invitation and a boy spoke up and said:

“Why do you do that everyday? Asking if we have accepted Jesus. What’s the point ?”

I explained to him that not everyone there had made that decision before. The hostess was in the back sitting with the kids and she began to ask each of the kids if they had done that. Everyone there is Chinese and she was able to communicate with the younger kids what I was trying to say. So after club Grace and I sat in a circle with 5 kids. One of the mothers was so excited that she brought out her camera and recorded the whole thing. I have never had that happened before but I just decided to go with it. (: The kids were pretty excited and we gave the oldest one in group a bible. After talking to the hostess I found out that all of those kids, who made a decision, didn’t have Bibles so we will be bringing those tomorrow. One of the little girls even gave me a hug later, so it was a great day of teaching.

I’m really sad that this week is soon coming to a close, but I know that God has all of these kids in His hands. I’ve honestly been so blessed getting to be apart of these kids lives and leading some of them to Christ.

God Bless,

Today was a good day of teaching clubs. But sadly our first club got cancelled because we had no kids today. We advertised all over and we even went over to a park to see if we could have club there. However no kids showed, which is pretty sad. But it helped me to remember even more that God is good and faithful no matter what happens in life. (:

Club 2: During this club we had 6 kids once again, and they all have given us their lessons so that was cool. So Grace was telling the kids the Bible story and explaining how long the boat was. As the kids were amazed at a boat being the size of a football field and a half, one boy spoke up: “But God is bigger than that!” It honestly made my day hearing him saying that and just understanding how great God is. Afterwards we did the song ‘Do you Believe’ which is a very slow song. As Grace was explaining the meaning the boy fell on his knees in front of us and said “Yes! Yes I do believe!” Haha, that’s what every teacher wants to hear during their club. (;

Club 3: During this club we had 7 kids and it was so much fun. They are more quiet kids but they still aren’t afraid to get into the stories and songs. So after the club we got a lesson from a girl and made a decision through the mailbox lesson! We are pretty excited about that, and clearly God is doing His work. With this club though we are having a hard time trying to figure out how to do proper follow up with these kids. We are always having to rush out to our next club which is a struggle and we want to do our best following up. So prayer the Grace and I will be able to figure a way to make sure that happens.

Club 4: So for this club today I had to teach it by myself today because Grace Konard had an appointment. There were about 10 kids today and it felt a little chaotic at points. But it was still a good club. I didn’t have my attendance sheet because we have been using Grace’s stuff all week. So prizes afterwards was a challenge, but I managed.

For prayer requests, my voice is continually getting better, so thanks to everyone who has been praying for me. Also pray that the LORD will continue to guide my teaching and that I will have God’s heart for these kids.

God Bless,

Gwyneth
